an honest comparison

DreamBot vs Remini, Midjourney, ChatGPT and more

DreamBot is an iPhone and iPad app that paints you into a brand-new AI dream every night. Add a selfie and the people you love, pick favorite places and a mood, and each morning a fresh dream starring you is waiting. No prompts.

Looking for an alternative to Remini, Midjourney, ChatGPT or another big AI photo app? Here’s what each does best, how DreamBot differs, and who’d prefer which. Sometimes the other app is the better pick, and this page says so.

How DreamBot is different

None of the apps below is built to paint you and the people you love into a new dream every night, unprompted. That’s DreamBot’s whole idea, and it runs on DreamBot’s own dream engine: set it up once with a selfie, up to five loved ones (partner, best friend, family) and a few favorite places, and every morning there’s a new world, a new art style, and the real you and your people in the middle of it.

Around that: a studio with the top image models, Restyle for turning a photo into art, and a feed of specialized bots. It isn’t a photo editor, a restorer, a video app or a chat assistant.

A Remini alternative for dreaming, not restoring

Remini is a photo enhancer, and a very good one: it turns blurry, scratched or old photos into sharp HD, so it’s the one for rescuing your parents’ albums. DreamBot doesn’t restore photos. It makes new pictures of you, in places and costumes you’ve never been.

A Midjourney alternative that comes to you

Midjourney is known for striking, stylized images and the control artists love: style and character references, a web editor and image-to-video, on its website and in Discord. For a desktop art workflow, Midjourney is the deeper tool. For art of yourself on your phone every morning, no prompt required, DreamBot.

A ChatGPT image alternative built around you

ChatGPT makes and edits images right in the conversation: describe a picture or upload one, then ask for changes. It’s strong with text and layouts, inside an assistant that does far more than pictures. Want one app that answers, writes and draws? ChatGPT. DreamBot only does pictures, with OpenAI’s GPT Image 2 in its studio.

A Gemini and Nano Banana alternative with more models

Gemini is Google’s AI assistant, and its Nano Banana model edits your photos when you describe the change: blend images, adjust the lighting, design a poster with sharp text. For quick photo edits in a chat, Gemini is hard to beat. DreamBot’s studio has Nano Banana and Nano Banana Pro beside Flux, GPT Image and Grok Imagine.

A Leonardo AI alternative that keeps it simple

Leonardo.Ai is a full creative suite on the web and iOS: several top image models (Nano Banana and FLUX among them), video, Blueprint templates, an editor and an upscaler. DreamBot keeps its studio to a prompt box and a model picker. Want video and templates? Leonardo. Want to wake up as a pirate? DreamBot.

A Photo AI alternative for art, not headshots

Photo AI builds a personal AI model from a set of your photos, then makes realistic shots of you on the web: headshots, dating and travel packs, groups of up to four people, even video. For pictures that pass as a real photoshoot, pick Photo AI. DreamBot starts from one selfie and paints dreams in all kinds of art styles, meant to be enjoyed as art.

A Glam AI alternative for dreams, not trends

Glam AI is a trend machine for photos and video: AI photoshoots from one selfie, anime and cartoon styles, virtual outfits, beauty edits and video effects, with new effects several times a week. For this week’s viral look, Glam AI is built for it. DreamBot doesn’t edit your photos or videos; it invents a new scene every night with you in it.

An Epik alternative for new pictures, not edits

EPIK, from SNOW, is a deep photo editor: AI skin retouching, smart cutouts, object removal, pro color tools, collages and AI character filters. It’s also the app behind 2023’s wave of AI yearbook photos. For polishing a real photo, EPIK is the one. DreamBot isn’t a photo editor; it’s for the pictures you never took.

A Lensa alternative that dreams up something new

Lensa, from Prisma Labs, is a selfie and photo editor: natural retouching, object removal, filters for photos and video, plus artistic avatars (its Magic Avatars took over feeds in late 2022). It’s the pick for making a real selfie look its best. DreamBot makes something new: a different dream of you every night.

Questions people ask

What's the best app for AI pictures of me and my partner?
